Big STEM Day
As part of Science and Discovery Month, W5 is delighted to invite primary and post-primary schools to a fun filled day at the O2 in Belfast which includes ‘Big STEM Day’ at W5, 10am -1pm followed by a Friendship Four Ice Hockey Game, 2pm - 4.30pm.
As part of the build-up to the first of the Friendship Four Ice Hockey games, Providence College vs University of Minnesota Duluth, W5 is opening its doors for FREE to 1,000 young people attending the 2pm game with their school. Schools will be able to access over 250 amazing interactive exhibits, which provide lots of opportunities to engage with all aspects of science, technology, engineering and maths. There will also be different activities taking place pre-game, including special science shows and activities to get your game face ready!
Schools can arrive at W5 from 10am. Bring your packed lunch or snacks, and we will allocate a picnic area for you. Then it's just a short walk to the big game between these two American teams starts at 2pm (doors open from 1pm).
Schools are required to book in advance for this event and must be able to attend both W5 and the Friendship Four Game. *Please note places are limited and subsidised transport may become available; we hope to offer each school £150 per bus (T's&C's apply).
We ask that you book only the tickets you require to ensure other schools have the opportunity to attend. In the event that your numbers are reduced, please let us know as soon as possible.
